The Revopoint MetroX Series combines multi-line blue laser scanning and full-field blue structured light in a professional handheld and desktop 3D scanner. Designed for small to medium-sized objects, MetroX and MetroX Pro provide high-accuracy scanning for reverse engineering, product development, inspection, prototyping, 3D printing and digital replication.

Choose the MetroX for high-accuracy professional scanning or step up to the MetroX Pro for faster laser capture, more projected laser lines and improved volumetric accuracy.

MetroX vs. MetroX Pro

Both scanners use the same core blue-laser and structured-light technologies, scanning volume, working distance and 0.02 mm single-frame accuracy. MetroX Pro increases the number of projected laser lines, substantially improves laser capture speed and provides better volumetric accuracy.

Four Flexible Scanning Modes

Cross-Line Laser Scanning

Cross-line blue laser scanning rapidly captures flat, low-feature, dark and reflective surfaces. MetroX projects 14 crossed laser lines, while MetroX Pro increases this to 30 crossed laser lines for significantly faster surface capture.

Parallel-Line Laser Scanning

Parallel-line mode is designed for fine details, edges and complex geometry. MetroX projects 7 parallel blue laser lines while MetroX Pro increases this to 15 parallel lines.

Full-Field Blue Structured Light

A 62-line structured-light pattern captures feature-rich objects at up to 7 million points per second. Suitable objects can be scanned marker-free using feature tracking.

Auto Turntable Mode

Use the included dual-axis turntable together with Revo Metro to automatically rotate and capture smaller objects. This mode simplifies desktop scanning and also enables full-colour capture using the scanner's integrated RGB camera.

Improved Performance with MetroX Pro

MetroX Pro is designed for users who want faster professional laser scanning without moving to a completely different scanner platform. Its 30 crossed laser lines and 15 parallel lines provide more than double the laser projection density of the standard MetroX.

Laser capture speed increases from up to 800,000 points per second on MetroX to as much as 2,000,000 points per second on MetroX Pro. MetroX Pro also improves volumetric accuracy from 0.025 mm + 0.05 mm × L (m) to 0.02 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m).

High-Accuracy Scanning

Both MetroX and MetroX Pro provide single-frame precision down to 0.01 mm and single-frame accuracy up to 0.02 mm under controlled test conditions.

The scanners can produce a fused point distance as fine as 0.05 mm, making the MetroX Series suitable for detailed mechanical parts, reverse engineering, product development, digital reproduction and inspection workflows.

Flexible Capture Area

A working distance of 200–400 mm provides flexibility when scanning objects with different sizes and geometries.

Scan Dark and Reflective Surfaces

Multi-line blue laser modes allow many dark, black and metallic surfaces to be captured directly without first coating the entire object with scanning spray. For maximum detail, or when scanning transparent or strongly specular surfaces, scanning spray may still be required.

In full-field structured-light mode, scanning spray is recommended for transparent, black, highly reflective or specular surfaces.

Feature, Marker and Global Marker Tracking

The MetroX Series supports three tracking methods:

• Feature Tracking
• Marker Tracking
• Global Marker Tracking

Tracking markers are required for laser-line scanning. Structured-light scanning can operate marker-free when an object contains sufficient unique surface geometry, although marker tracking can improve alignment stability.

Revo Metro Software Included

Revopoint's Revo Metro software is included at no additional charge. It provides the complete core scanning workflow, including:

Revo Metro does not require an active internet connection for normal scanning and model editing. Internet access is required for software updates and online file transfers.

GPU Note: Dedicated GPU acceleration applies to laser-line scanning. Revopoint currently specifies NVIDIA GPU acceleration on Windows; AMD and Mac GPUs do not currently provide laser-line GPU acceleration.

Laser Safety

The MetroX Series uses a Class 2M laser projector. Avoid looking directly into the laser at close range and do not view the beam through magnifying optical equipment such as camera lenses, binoculars or telescopes.

The MetroX Series is intended for scanning objects and is not recommended for scanning people or animals.
