BLTouch is an auto leveling sensor for 3D Printers based on open-source.
Smart
Simple
High-precision
BLTouch is a type of semiconductor hall sensor and is an electronic component for 3D printers.
BLTouch is an auto leveling sensor for 3D Printers that can precisely measure the tilt of Bed surface. It could work with any kinds of bed materials, such as glass, metals, and so on.
Main functions and controls of BLTouch are the same as usual auto bed leveling sensor, consists of RC servo and micro switch. Thus, BLTouch can be applied on almost every board.
BLTouch is fulfilled with simple structure and high precision by using progressively designed solenoid and hall sensor. It aims for user convenience and enjoyable printing by adding many smart functions, such as self-test, alarm, alarm release & Touch Switch mode, Blue LED for servo signal indicating and Z-probe(Zmin) Testing.
Simple
BLTouch can be easily applied, since it has a small and simple structure. As BLTouch works as usual auto bed leveling sensor, Gathering information & setting up your firmware will be an easy task.
Smart
Self-test : The push pin operates two times in a test when the power is on.
Alarm : The AI will flash the LED indicator if a problem is detected during a self-test or operation.
Wiring defect indicator : Blue and Red LED for indicating wiring defects.
High-precision
BLTouch’s Standard Deviation in repeatability is around 0.005mm.
Logic Voltage Free(Open Drain Output)
3.3V / 5V logic voltage free(default).
Long stroke : ≒ 6.5mm
The stroke is up to 1.6mm longer than V2.0
Cable length is 15cm. Replacement cables may be required.
Buy the Antclabs BLTouch from Spool3D in Canada without the surprise cost of the exchange rate!
Just added my 2nd printer and a bltouch is a no brainer after how it helped with my first printers bed issues, save yourself the first layer headaches and let the machine do it’s job and get that first layer down nicely.

BL Touch
5/5
My first unit went haywire and then died.
Derek from Spool3D sent me a new one and all is well now.
After setting home (the distance from extruder tip to the bed) and then manually leveling, this unit does the trick. It dests in a grid pattern measuring the beds distance from the nozzle in numerous locations, 25 on my Ender 6 to be exact. These measurements are used to adjust the distance during the print. My bed isn't level even wen it has been leveled manually. It has deviations that the BL touch compensates for. As long as the initial home setting is close enough to the bed, BL will do the rest. I think its a must have item.

Replace the part fixed the problem. Quick service and shipping

Quality ABL sensor
5/5
My install was a bit more complicated as the board I use doesn't directly support ABL sensor but this came with plenty of extra parts and the instructions on their website are very clear. Honestly the hardest part of installing this is the software side configuration... the hardware itself is well made and easy to install.

Auto bed levelling is great.....when everything works.
The BT Touch I purchased from Spool3D continues to give me problems. I have checked the voltages on the boeard, purchased a 2.0m connection cable with pre-wired connectors and this BL-Touch is still not working. The problem I have is sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 25% of the time when I turn on the machine the BT-Touch does it's self check and drops and retracts the probe pin a couple of times. The other 75% of the time, I turn the machine on and it just sits there. I've found a flick with my finger gets it to wake up and function, but even after that I have to keep an eye on whether it's going to drop the probe or not and give it a flick to get it to work. I think I have a defective unit, this doesn't seem like a wiring or power issue.

Bltouch review
5/5
Works perfect. More reliable levelling than my inductive sensor. Glows red during normal operations, but this seems to be normal. Would highly recommend and but again.

BLTOUCH
5/5
Works every single time compared to the clone I had which never once made a successful mesh probing routine.
I should probably know better by now. Buy once, cry once.
It would have saved me hours of time over weeks trying to get the clone to work. Buy the best cry about it once.

Put this on and Ender 3 and it works great. Followed some of the videos on line to get z offset correct. Had to update creality board to Marlin 2.03. A little tricky , you have to turn off a few things in the code that were not really ever used but got it done(videos on line). Old board had the boot loader on it which made it a bit simpler.

Best upgrade!
5/5
Bought it to install on an Ender 5, I changed the board at the same time for an SKR1.3 with TMC2208.
Now the printer work like a charm, the bed leveling is the feature that was missing, the BL Touch was easy to install on Marlin 2.0 and it works perfectly.
I don't need anymore to manually adjust the bed every few prints, the 1st layer is excellent!
Probably on of the best upgrade I purchased!

Works perfectly
5/5
Alright so let me just start by saying that I recieved version 3.0. Version 3.0 and marlin only work together if your using the 1.1.9 bugfix patches for the new version of bltouch or the version 2.0.0 build. Once I got that all sorted out it works perfectly. The first layer always goes down well and i can't wait to try it out with the buildtak flexplates I ordered. All in all it works and I love it.

Buy this if you want a headache, otherwise avoid
1/5
As far as I can tell, this was a waste of money. The sensor fails its self-test most of the time, and gives inconsistent readings when I actually get to use it. Consider purchasing a different probe.

Best sensor available, wish QC was a little tighter
4/5
This is by far the best sensor available. Reliable trigger height, excellent precision. The latest version makes troubleshooting a lot easier with the extra LED indicating trigger wire state. However, I've owned 3 of them, and 2 of them had issues out of the box that were resolved with either buying a new pin for one or getting a warranty replacement with a new unit for the other.

Meh
3/5
Works slightly better than my 3dtouch, which I recently broke. Also, the plastic pin is easily bent. Replacement not available here.

is there anything bad about this sensor?
5/5
Not one iota. Works on marlin right out the box. Reliable, robust and accurate.
Repetier support is still lacking.

Quality piece of gear
5/5
I recently installed this new sensor. I am getting repeatability with a maximum of 0.04 mm which in my opinion is excellent. Most repeated readings of the same spot are within 0.02 mm. Activation force is extremely low.
It is a bit of a pain to set the sensor up because the height has to be 'just right'. Part of that falls on me as my mount wasn't easy to adjust - not something I can blame the sensor for. There was a generous amount of extra hardware bits included - nice touch. Documentation - what documentation :) Setup instructions are found via the web but no hookup instructions were available for a Creality CR-10S. A direct request for assistance from the manufacturer did not solicit any help! I did get things hooked up eventually but I would rate customer support as lacking!

Great experience on this unit
5/5
Easy to setup, documentation is online and easy to setup with most printers. I've got one on my X5S, CR-10 and Little Monster. Super happy with them, I could use mechanical or peizo, but I'm setup with what I have now and with glass, it's easier than other methods like capacitive or inductive leveling.

Solid Hardware, Documentation Lacking
4/5
Wiring up my BLTouch to my SmoothieBoard took a couple of tries — the wiring diagram on the manufacturer’s website is one picture with no helpful text. I ended up having to scour the rest of their website to find out what the wire colours meant, and then decipher that, yes, all 5 wires need to be connected.
Once I got it working it’s great. I’ve ordered another one, for my older printer.

Takes the @&*% out of levelling!
5/5
I couldn't get the level right for my first print, and now I'm printing like a pro. Well, not quite, but my Folgertech i3 printer is printing pretty awesomely.

Must have
5/5
I was manually leveling my bed, with this and a proper calibration no more leveling necessary, I can put a bare glass for TPU, one with PEI for my ABS prints and not have to worry even if the thickness isn't the same. This isa great quality product.
