First of all the title of this part is incorrect. The description correctly labels it as case hardened chromed steel rod. I ordered 2 x 550mm and 3 x 1000mm (as 500mm was sold out) and the rods came straight and between these and the fairly decent bearing sliders I ordered from China, there is effectively zero play in my Z axis system. I'm using Igus brushing for the X and Y axes and even then everything is smooth and sturdy.
