PLA filament is an excellent material for a beginner to start with and has the added benefit of being a bio-plastic, typically derived from corn.  Low odour and consistently round diameters make this material very easy to work with.

Tips for Printing with PLA:

    • Ensure your bed is level for optimal first layer adhesion.
    • Experiment with printing temperatures to find the best results for your printer.
    • Consider using a cooling fan for intricate details and bridging.
    • Store your PLA filament in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight when not in use. Please use the resealable plastic bag with the desiccant pack provided.

    Have found the filament to print very nicely. Happy with the print quality of the filaments. I love having the option to leverage a refillable option and not contributing to more landfill waste.

    Prints great without any stringing, and performs well on overhangs. Color looks great and is very solid (i.e. not much light passes through). It beats the crap out of most of the PLA available on Amazon, for a better price! Tip: rather than printing an entire reusable spool, I split an empty spool in half and printed a tube that fits snug on the halves and inside the refill spool.

    Used to order Hatchbox PLA from Amazon,but had to stop due to stock levels during COVID. Won't ever be going back, as this PLA is just as good, and I know it was handled & stored properly, not dumped in a random warehouse.

    Prints nice, clear, not yellow. They recommend 195-210c but i had the best luck at 218c. Overall very nice and would buy again.

    This PLA is a little more prone to stringning than i am used to. I also had to remove 2-3 feet at the start of the roll because it was warped. The fact that it does not come with a spool is great if you print alot and hate wasting spools. However, the dimentions are a little odd: much wider than a typical spool and with a very large diameter core. I wish that spool3d sold a compatible full-sized spool. I would have also liked to see this refill be compatible with other reusable spools on the market such a eSun.

    ordered two respools. Arrived very fast. Enjoyed making my own holder for this filament. The spool holder provided on thingiverse did not suit my needs prints just fine. Have never had any issues with spool3d filaments.
