The Creality Sermoon X1 is an industrial professional 3D scanner combining 34 crossed blue laser lines, seven parallel blue laser lines, one single blue laser line and NIR structured light.

It delivers accuracy up to 0.02mm, volumetric accuracy of 0.02mm + 0.04mm/m, and enhanced volumetric accuracy of 0.02mm + 0.03mm/m using the included carbon-fibre scale bars. With wireless Wi-Fi 6 scanning, photogrammetry, capture speeds up to 90 FPS and a wide scanning range, the Sermoon X1 is built for inspection, manufacturing, reverse engineering, restoration and automotive applications.

Industrial Precision for Demanding Applications

The Sermoon X1 is designed for non-destructive inspection and professional 3D measurement workflows where repeatable dimensional accuracy is essential.

Its blue laser system provides:

  • Scanning accuracy up to 0.02mm
  • Volumetric accuracy of 0.02mm + 0.04mm/m
  • Scale-bar-enhanced volumetric accuracy of 0.02mm + 0.03mm/m

Actual results may vary with temperature, vibration, surface characteristics, calibration, operator technique and other environmental conditions.

Built-In Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry mode and two included magnetic carbon-fibre scale bars help the scanner correct dimensional accuracy during reconstruction.

The scale bars are especially useful for:

  • Large mechanical assemblies
  • Automotive body panels
  • Industrial machinery
  • Dimensional inspection
  • Restoration projects
  • Reverse engineering
  • Long components where accumulated dimensional error must be minimized

Creality states that the scale bars improve volumetric accuracy to 0.02mm + 0.03mm/m.

Four Scanning Systems in One Device

The Sermoon X1 combines four scanning modes for different materials, geometries and object sizes:

  • One single blue laser line: Deep holes, narrow gaps and recessed features
  • Seven parallel blue laser lines: Fine details and complex surfaces
  • 34 crossed blue laser lines: Fast capture of large industrial parts
  • NIR structured light: Marker-free scanning of people and medium-to-large objects

This multi-light system allows the scanner to move between precision components and large assemblies without requiring separate scanning hardware.

Deep-Hole Scanning

The single-line blue laser mode is designed to reach difficult geometry that broad laser patterns may not fully capture.

It can scan:

  • Deep bores
  • Narrow openings
  • Recessed surfaces
  • Internal channels
  • Mechanical cavities
  • Hard-to-reach automotive and industrial features

The manufacturer rates the system for narrow holes with a depth-to-diameter ratio of up to 6:1, based on testing with a 28.68mm-diameter pipe and a measured depth of 172.7mm.

High-Speed Capture up to 90 FPS

A high-frame-rate processing system and optimized algorithms allow the Sermoon X1 to capture up to 1,734,000 measurements per second in 34-cross-line mode.

Maximum scanning speeds include:

  • Single laser line: up to 90 FPS
  • Seven parallel laser lines: up to 90 FPS
  • 34 crossed laser lines: up to 70 FPS
  • NIR structured light: up to 30 FPS

The higher capture rate helps maintain tracking while scanning large components, complicated geometry and industrial equipment.

CNC-Machined One-Piece Optical Structure

The scanner uses a CNC-machined all-metal unibody optoelectronic bracket and lens mount.

Its mechanically locked structure is designed to resist:

  • Lens misalignment
  • Mechanical looseness
  • Vibration
  • Dimensional drift
  • Accuracy loss during extended industrial use

This rigid optical foundation helps maintain stable calibration and consistent scan results.

Larger Field of View

The Sermoon X1 provides a wide single-frame capture area for large workpieces.

Maximum capture ranges include:

  • Blue laser: 650 × 531mm at 600mm
  • NIR structured light: 1300 × 935mm at 1200mm

A larger field of view reduces the number of passes and reflective markers required when scanning vehicles, machinery and other large surfaces.

Creality states that the X1 can require approximately 17.36% fewer markers per unit area than the Sermoon S1 under its comparison conditions.

Scan Objects from 5mm to 4 Metres

The hybrid laser and NIR system supports a broad range of object sizes.

Blue Laser Scanning

  • Minimum scan volume: 5 × 5 × 5mm
  • Maximum scan volume: 4000 × 4000 × 4000mm

NIR Structured-Light Scanning

  • Minimum object volume: 150 × 150 × 150mm
  • Maximum object volume: 2000 × 2000 × 2000mm

This makes the Sermoon X1 suitable for everything from bolts and small machined components to people, automotive parts and complete vehicles.

Scan Black and Metallic Surfaces

The blue laser system is designed to capture many black and metallic surfaces without scanning spray.

Potential applications include:

  • Engine components
  • Cast-metal parts
  • Black plastic housings
  • Turbine components
  • Automotive body panels
  • Industrial machinery

Transparent, mirror-like or exceptionally reflective surfaces may still require surface preparation.

Indoor and Outdoor Operation

The Sermoon X1 is designed to operate under workshop lighting and bright outdoor conditions.

Maximum manufacturer-rated ambient-light levels are:

  • Single blue laser line: below 100,000 lux
  • Seven parallel laser lines: below 50,000 lux
  • 34 crossed laser lines: below 100,000 lux
  • NIR structured light: below 30,000 lux

The official product information highlights outdoor operation and multi-material adaptability.

Wireless Scanning with Wi-Fi 6

The included Scan Bridge enables cable-free operation around large objects and in environments where a tethered computer would restrict movement.

Manufacturer-rated wireless specifications include:

  • Wi-Fi 6 AX6000
  • Transmission rate up to 4.7Gbps
  • Latency as low as 10ms
  • Physical scanning controls
  • Magnetic phone holder
  • Battery-powered mobile operation

Wireless scanning is particularly useful for vehicles, industrial equipment, sculptures and large installations.

More Than Four Hours of Battery Life

The Scan Bridge contains a 5000mAh battery rated for more than four hours of operation.

It also includes:

  • USB Type-C charging
  • Battery-level indicator
  • Charging base
  • Handheld ergonomic grip

Battery life will vary with wireless conditions, scanning mode, connected devices and operating environment. The manufacturer advertises four-plus hours of battery operation.

Full-Colour Texture Scanning

A Qualcomm ISP processor, 2MP RGB camera and 12 dual-colour texture lights support detailed colour capture.

The lighting system uses:

  • Blue illumination during blue laser scanning
  • White illumination to improve colour texture brightness
  • Qualcomm ISP processing for colour mapping

This is useful for digital archiving, art, restoration, visual inspection and textured 3D models.

Intelligent Scan Stabilization

An AI-driven temperature-compensation algorithm and thermal-management system help maintain stable output during prolonged scanning sessions.

One-shot 3D imaging technology is designed to:

  • Improve tracking stability
  • Reduce dropped frames
  • Reduce stitching errors
  • Compensate for small amounts of scanner movement
  • Maintain more consistent output during long scans

The manufacturer highlights this stabilization system as a core professional feature.

CrealityScan 4.0 Software

CrealityScan 4.0 provides tools for scanning, calibration, point-cloud processing and model preparation.

Features include:

  • Guided calibration
  • Step-by-step tutorials
  • Real-time scanning
  • Global-marker tracking

  • Laser-line fusion
  • Mesh generation
  • Mesh repair
  • Isolated-part removal
  • Hole filling
  • AI-assisted model repair
  • Print-ready avatar generation
