I had the same experience as Nathan. I bought 20 of them, and 3 would not thread properly. I used a tap and die set to carve the threads in properly on the troublesome 3; trying to force the screw through the nut to carve the thread just didn't work, the nuts are really strong.

Purchased 20 of these, so far I've found three that don't want to thread onto the bolts. So quality control is hit or miss. Fortunately they're cheap, so buy more than you need.
