Bambu Lab Filament Sensor Unit - A2L

The Bambu Lab Filament Sensor Unit – A2L is a genuine OEM replacement sensor for monitoring filament feeding through the A2L toolhead. It detects filament status to help prevent failed prints and supports reliable automated filament handling.

During multi-colour or multi-material printing, the sensor recognizes filament entering and leaving the toolhead and provides this information to the AMS system for automatic filament switching. It can also detect filament-jamming conditions and alert the printer when material is not feeding correctly.

Replace the sensor when the original component becomes damaged, filament is no longer detected reliably, jam detection becomes inconsistent, or troubleshooting identifies a fault with the sensor board or connecting cable. The FAE059 kit includes the Filament Hall Sensor Board Assembly, cable harness, spring, mounting screws, and lubricant required for servicing the system. It is designed specifically for the Bambu Lab A2L.

Overview

The Filament Sensor is used to detect the filament feeding status to help prevent print failures and improve overall printing efficiency. When printing with multiple filaments, the filament sensor can recognize the input and output of filaments and transmit the information to the AMS unit for filament switching. It can also detect filament jamming situations and transmit the information to the printer immediately.
