    Stepper Motor for Afterburner

Posted by William Menheniott on July 19, 2024

This motor was supplied as a replacement for a faulty motor that came with the Spool3D Voron 2.4 kit. The original would not run properly and seems to have an internal fault based on discovering that the A and B winding resistances were quite different. The new motor works well - as expected with an LDO motor. The original was also LDO made. I was happy that Spool3D sent a new motor after going through some troubleshooting with me. I completed my first print with the Voron and I was very happy wih the result especially considering that the printer is not fine tuned yet. The only downside was the wait in getting a new motor sent from Calgary to Ontario - it took a week, despite Spool3D using Canada Post Expedited Parcel.
