Explore Our 1.75mm PLA Metal Colours Collection (these do NOT contain any metal):

    • Gold - The base colour is a warm yellow, leaning towards a rich, traditional gold rather than a pale or greenish gold. It has a certain depth and warmth reminiscent of precious metal.
    • Silver - The base colour is a cool grey, leaning towards a bright, almost chrome-like silver rather than a dull or warm grey. It has a clean and modern feel, reminiscent of polished metal.

PLA filament is an excellent material for a beginner to start with and has the added benefit of being a bio-plastic, typically derived from corn.  Low odour and consistently round diameters make this material very easy to work with.

Tips for Printing with PLA:

    • Ensure your bed is level for optimal first layer adhesion.
    • Experiment with printing temperatures to find the best results for your printer.
    • Consider using a cooling fan for intricate details and bridging.
    • Store your PLA filament in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight when not in use. Please use the resealable plastic bag with the desiccant pack provided.

    Inconsistent color

Posted by JF on November 26, 2022

I will not buy again. The color is inconsistent from one spool to another. The end result is also very brittle compare to other PLA.

    Finish issues

Posted by Kevin on December 28, 2021

Tried a few different temperatures and part orientation and still ended up with a rough bottom surface with the gold color filament. Same data with different filament was considerably better.

    Great PLA

Posted by CS on June 01, 2021

I've been using Spool3D PLA filament for a while now and I have no complaints whatsoever. I've had better print quality than I did with the roll of Prusament that came with my printer. The gold is not a super bright gold but it does look really good. Will have to try a metal filled gold to see if it's brighter. Prusa MK3S

Spool3D 1.75mm GOLD "Metal" Filament Review

Terrific filament for re-creating GOLD. I have used it for a bracelet and a jewelry box. Really nice!

    Beautiful finish

Posted by Erik on October 05, 2020

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ordered this, but was pleasantly surprised that the end product was much closer to a silk PLA than regular gloss. It seems to be relatively strong, too (most silk PLA I've used has been brittle), which means that for certain prints I would prefer to use this.
