Core Product Overview
The neXt G is part of the "Extreme Gradient" series, designed for ultra-high flow applications while maintaining a lightweight design and broad compatibility.
Key Features & Technologies
- Ultra High Flow Rate: Designed to achieve a maximum printing flow rate of up to 45mm³/s by utilizing an ultra-high flow nut adapter to extend the melt zone.
- Rigid Kinematic Coupling System:
- Ensures a super-rigid heater block connection.
- Significantly limits heat transfer to the heatsink.
- Protects the heatbreak from bending during bed leveling failures or if the nozzle scrapes over warped prints.
- Enables one-handed nozzle changes.
- V6 Nozzle Compatibility: Fully compatible with the standard V6 nozzle system, offering freedom of choice for various nozzle types.
- Ceramic Heater Technology: Uses an efficient ceramic heater plate that is more cost-effective and easier to maintain than traditional ceramic ring heaters.
- Dragon Hotend Footprint: Shares the same dimensions as the Dragon hotend, making it compatible with existing mounting systems for Voron, Creality, and Prusa (via Groove Mount adapter).
Product Comparison: Phaetus neXtG vs. neXtG Fiber
The neXtG series represents Phaetus's high-flow "Rigid Kinematic" architecture. While they share the same physical footprint and core design, they are optimized for different material classes.

Key Differences Explained
1. Internal Material Construction
The Standard neXtG utilizes a titanium alloy heatbreak which is excellent for thermal isolation and allows for slightly higher volumetric flow rates with non-abrasive materials due to its internal surface finish.
The neXtG Fiber replaces critical components with hardened steel and specialized coatings (DLC - Diamond Like Carbon). This makes the entire filament path resistant to the "sandpaper" effect of carbon fiber or glass fiber-filled filaments which would quickly destroy a standard titanium or copper nozzle.
2. Volumetric Flow Performance
- neXtG: Includes a specialized UHF (Ultra High Flow) extension nut and silicone sock in the box to maximize the melt zone for high-speed printing.
- neXtG Fiber: Focused more on reliability and consistency with viscous, fiber-filled materials. While it is still a high-flow hotend, it prioritizes part strength and wear resistance over raw speed records.
3. Nozzle Selection
The neXtG Fiber ships with a hardened steel nozzle out of the box, whereas the standard version ships with a plated copper nozzle for superior heat transfer.
Setup Tips
-
- PID Tuning: Always perform a PID tune after installation to ensure stable temperatures.
- Heat-Tightening: Nozzles must be heat-tightened to specification to prevent leaks.
- Firmware: Verify the thermistor type in your firmware (e.g., PT1000) before heating.
