    Works great!

Old motor was skipping and this one has been absolutely perfect. Great service even with the covid19 craziness.

    Great Motor !

Posted by Craig C on January 25, 2018

My ANET A8 Y-Axis stepper motor started to show signs that it wasn't happy. I needed a motor FAST and this little motor from Spool 3D fit the bill perfectly. I wired it up and was back printing in an hour. It's FAR smoother in general operation (better quality bearings I suspect) than the stock motor. So happy to have this options. The shipping was spectacularly fast as usual.

Great stepper for Greg's Wade direct extruder

Posted by TL on April 27, 2017

This is a great motor to drive a Greg's Wade direct extruder without compromising torque. Its lighter than the typical 48 mm motors and shorter of course, this provide less weight and more nimble x-carriage. Make sure to get the A4988 driver and not the DRV8825 because the latter has some issues of small hesitations at lower speeds. These minor hesitations can result in some artifacts in your prints. I set the A4988 at 0.55 Vref volts and it runs just about right (35c - 45 c) . My prints quality looks fantastic now.
