This is Micro Swiss All Metal Hotend kit with redesigned cooling block for Wanhao i3 with the following improvements:

  • Slotted Clamping system
  • No set screw to ding and damage thermal tube
  • Significantly better heat transfer (this is a big one!!!)
  • Easier disassemble and adjustments
  • Precise control on bore diameter

Micro Swiss All Metal Hotend Kit Features:

All metal hotend upgrade for MK10 style extruders. This upgrade includes a modified thermal barrier tube and modified nozzle with modified cooling block. Thermal barrier tube is made from 2 different materials. The lower thermal break is made from stainless steel, and the colder upper part is made from aluminum. Stainless steel was used for thermal break because it offers low thermal conductivity, and aluminum was used for the upper portion because it has a lot better thermal conductivity, to carry away any heat from the filament. All metal hotend will let you print at much higher temperature then possible with original PTFE lined one. Another benefit of an all metal hotend design is more consistent melt chamber control. During slow extrusion rate, in PTFE lined hotend, transition zone from solid to molten plastic tends to creep upward creating more stringy prints. With all metal design a transition zone is always constant, being located right at the heat break. With fast extrusion rate, PTFE tube doesn't have enough thermal conductivity to properly melt all the plastic coming out. On MK10 extruders that limitation happens around 60 mm/s, depending on nozzle size. All metal hotend solves this problem, plastic is surrounded by thermally conductive nozzle throughout its length.

Great extruder!

5/5
I have nothing bad to say about the Micro-Swiss Mk10 extruder kit. It's great and it's super easy to install. One thing I didn't know is that the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Mk2 does have an all-metal extruder already. This is for non-mk2 printers. Oh well, I now have a Genuine Micro-Swiss installed on my i3+Mk2 and if something ever happens I still have the stock one packed away. Get one but don't get one if you have a Duplicator i3 Plus Mk2.

micro swiss hot end

5/5
The micro Swiss hot end made my Monoprice. Select V2 into a real printer. Prints flawlessly never runs out of filament. Couldn’t be happier.

Should have done this long ago ;-)

5/5
I have been happy with my Wanhao i3 but found the nozzle clogs more often than my other printers. I put in the Micro Swiss all metal hot end and found the print quality improved. Time will tell if the clogging reduces.

Easy install and instant results.

5/5
I've installed these on both my Monoprice Maker Select V2 I think from start to finish it takes about 10-15 minutes to install. No more worrying about PTFE tubes clogging. No lag on a brim or skirt layer from when it starts printing and I'm able to get beautiful prints at 100mm/s.

Works Perfectly - Fits Hictop I3 with minimal mods

5/5
It sure is a good upgrade to any printer. It does improve the quality of my print. I tried it with Colorfabb XT carbon and FormFutura metalFill Bronze and its a charm to work with.

Great upgrade

5/5
I used the stock nozzle for 3 months, the internal plastic tube began to deform and my filament would often jam between prints. The new nozzle can't deform and has less friction when I insert or retract the filament when unloading and loading filament. I increased the head temperature 5 degrees as recommended by MicroSwiss and it has been working perfectly. Also noticed that filament does not stick as easily to the head so I have less issues with the head becoming messy.
