This MK8 nozzle is a drop in replacement for:
- Creality CR-10/10S/S4/S5/20/v2/v3
- Ender 3/5/6 Series
- OEM MakerbotMK8
The MK8 nozzle represents an improvement over the previously used Mk7 nozzle. The main difference between the MK8 Stepstruder and the MK7 is the ratio of melted to unmelted plastic inside the heated nozzle. You don't want PLA to stay melted for too long, because it will start to degrade, but the MK8 design eliminates that problem. About the same amount of plastic fits into each nozzle, but in the MK8 nozzle, more of that plastic remains solid. That means that any given bit of PLA will spend less time sitting in the heated nozzle in it's liquid state, and won’t have much time to degrade.
This 0.4mm nozzle is compatible with the MakerBot Replicator 2, 2X, and 5th Generation Desktop 3D Printers, as well as some other brands of 3D printers. It accepts 1.75mm filament.
Package contents:
- 1 brass MK8 nozzle (Size 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm or 1.2mm diameter)

better nozzle than the original
replaced the original nozzle that kept clogging. This end seem to be more uniform in heat retention and dissipation. Haven't broken a piece of filament since changing over and the flow is very uniform.

-
nozzle appeared to be clogged
Filament curled immediately upon install. Not sure what the problem was, we dont have time to troubleshoot a $3 part. Just bought another one from someone else.

Upgrade nozzles
To date this new configuration to replace the original Makerbot nozzles has been trouble free and I keep a few in stock in my print shop so I'm never stranded or stopped mid print. I normally just put in a new one for any big job.
