This Smart Controller contains a SD-Card reader, a rotary encoder and a 20 Character x 4 Line LCD display. After connecting this controller to your RAMPS 1.4 board, you can use your 3D printer without being tethered to your computer.  Thecontroller supplies power for your SD card and reads the G-code for your 3D print directly from the card. All actions, such as calibration and axes movements can be done by using the rotary encoder on the controller.

Contrast for LCD is set by adjusting potentiometer on the back of the controller.

Works like a Champ!

Replaced a 2014 vintage original RepRapDiscount version which was starting to crumble. Using with a Rev 1.3 RAMBo board and the SeeMeCNC fork of Repetier. Just had to invert the connectors at the RAMBo to Smart Controller adapter board end and everything worked fine. Note that depending on the manufacturer and vintage, the header shrouds of the RepRapDiscount Smart Controller board may have a different orientation so something to watch for when hooking up.

ok but still trying to get working properly

Not sure if this is a defective unit yet. But getting some characters missing making it a bit hard to read. It is functional and again not sure if I need to do some firmware tuning bit over all what you generally expect.
