Assembly Manual and other information

The Voron V0 is a traditional CoreXY design with the bed moving along the Z axis. It is a tiny 120x120x120mm print area built with 1515 extrusions. It encloses naturally so printing ABS is possible. Currently, all single mechanical parts for V1 and V2 can be printed on a V0 bed. The design accounts for stock Makerbeam XL extrusion lengths (which come tapped) and standard MGN7 linear rail lengths, so scaling the design will start to increase cost or labor involved with tapping. The bed is also cantilevered which will also restrict scaling.

Features & Extras

  • Stainless Steel Linear Rails - That's right, no more worrying about rusty rails. You'll still want to grease these rails, but you can do it at the end of your build.
  • Linear Rail Mounting Bar - Our kit includes 5 custom 7H size linear rail mounting bar to secure the linear rails onto the extrusions, (no need to fiddle with tiny m2 nuts on a thin plastic part)
  • Brass Heatset Insert Tool - We've included a custom machined brass tip for your soldering iron, use it to install heatset inserts with ease!
  • Pre-cut & Pre-wired - Our kit includes all necessary wiring: cut to just the right length and pre-crimped or soldered to their respective parts. See our supplementary wiring guide here.
  • Two Types of Nuts - We've included both black oxide hex nuts and stainless square nuts in our kit, use whichever type you prefer.
  • Partially Threaded Screws - The small pack of partially threaded SHCS screws (M3x30/x35) are for the mini-afterburner, they help reduce wear on the Guider and Latch parts.
  • Hex Wrenches - We found that 1.5mm hex wrenches wear out easily, so we threw in a bunch of them. However, you should definitely still buy a set of good quality hex wrenches.
  • Threadlocker - Rev. A kits include a small tube of threadlocker for use on grub(set) screws. Starting from Rev. B, a separate bag of set screws with precoated threadlocker is included.
  • 2mm Drill Bit - Metric drill bits may not be very common in some parts of the world, so we included one. Use it to ream the filament path in your printed extruder parts.
  • RTV Glue - Rev. A kits include a tube of RTV glue for securing the heatpad to the aluminium build plate. Check out this great video by Nero3D for assembling a safe build plate. Starting from Rev. B, build plates will ship partially assembled with the heatpad and RTV glue pre-applied.

  • Take advantage of the Voron on Discord: https://discord.gg/voron. The community is very active on Discord and the users are very helpful on the #voron_0_questions channel.
  • Download Fusion 360 and get a free license to view the 3D model of the printer. The 3D model is a very useful reference when the manual is ambiguous or unclear.
  • Check out Nero 3DP's Youtube channel, he has a ton of videos on assembling Voron printers.
  • Get a serial number once you finish building your Voron.
  • The stock LDO kits include 2mm tophat panels, all other panels are 3mm (see supplementary print guide). However, some vendors will include their own unique panels, check with your vendor.
  • The Z axis cable chain may include more links than needed. When installing, move the build plate to the most most position, then fit the cable chain and remove links as needed. Beware, if your cable chain is too long, it may interfere with Z homing!

  • Printed Parts Guide (LDO supplement) - Are you planning on printing parts before the kit arrives? Read our supplementary print guide to see which parts to print/replace/omit.
  • Wiring Guide - We created this supplementary wiring guide to make wiring your printer a breeze.
  • Nuts in 1515 Extrusions - See our short guide here for tips on handling nuts in 1515 aluminium extrusions.

Very Solid Kit, Great Parts, Great Little Workhorse!

After doing some pretty solid research on Voron machines, I wanted to "try my hand" at building one, but new that they could be a real pain to build, so I wanted to start with a small workhorse vs the larger volume printers. I also knew that a kit was something I would prefer, but the Aliexpress kits had horrible reviews. LDO is known for having quality parts and when I heard they had a kit (Prewired to save a ton of time), I searched the local shops for one and thankfully Spool3d had them in stock (before anyone else I think). Total build time for me was between 10-15 hours as I was very thorough not to make any mistakes and also watched the Nero3d video on this kit to ensure I had a video guide to walk through as well. The kit is tiny, and this sometimes leads to frustrations about aligning small screws and nuts into place so a lot of patience is required but once you get it going it's awesome! Overall, I love this printer. It's a solid premium kit and runs a bit more expensive but all the premium parts and the wiring predone in this kit was definitely worth the added value. I will likely be purchasing a Trident or V2.4 kit from LDO once they release them next year!

Best kit you can buy

I was waiting for another shop to stock another brands kit for $200 less, but decided to bite the bullet and get this one quicker and pay for the privilage. I didn't really do much research into this particular kit to be honest, and I was very surprized when I finally opened it all up. First off, this uses all LDO motors, which is probably the best stepper motor brand out there, thats worth the extra cost alone, however it also comes with extra hardware, a heated insert tool, all the panels precut (And chamfered!) beautiful extrusions, a hefty proper heatbed, a dragonfly hotend, genuine BMG parts, all the wires properly cut and crimped, etc. Worth every penny, I'm very happy with my purchase. I can't think of a single thing missing from this kit, they even gave a metric drill bit if you need to bore out your printed parts properly. I'll keep an eye out for any more LDO Voron kits in the future.
