CR-5 Pro Printer
This is my first foray into the world of 3D printing so I don't have anything to compare this to. That said, I am enjoying this unit tremendously so far. 4 stars instead of 5 for a few reasons. I'll start with the good. Heavy as heck, super solid. This takes two people to move easily, or risk dropping it. Fully enclosed space is a lifesaver for me, for multiple reasons. It keeps the kids and pets away from things while printing, and the space we have it is fairly cold, so having the enclosure makes getting consistent temps a lot easier. The startup and initial printing could not be easier. No assembly required. Makes lovely prints once you get your settings right. Prepare to spend a bit of time tweaking to get things just right, but I think that's true of any printer. On the negative side, sometimes the filament does not feed smoothly into the tube on the back and you have to wiggle it around a bit. I ended up jamming too hard one time and pushing the feed tube out. Newbie mistake, but frustrating and probably avoidable with better documentation. The main reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the casing which covers the wires at the front left of the machine fell off in the middle of a print, the wires came loose and the printer nearly melted right through the wire which runs the Y axis. It was just lucky I saw it in time. Poor QC on a product this expensive, that should not happen on a 3 week old printer. Anyway, despite a super steep learning curve into the world of 3D printing, I would go with this printer again. It fits my needs and makes super nice prints.
