Great first printer however expect a steep learning curve.

Wow, what a great printer this is! This is my second printer, first one is a MP Select Mini V2. I wanted something bigger, better and more intelligent without breaking the bank. In other words, I wanted a Prusa I3 Mk3 but not as expensive. The Duplicator i3 Plus Mk2 comes close! It has auto-leveling, filament change, removable flexible bed sheet, resume print on power fail, a very solid construction and a direct feed Micro-Swiss style extruder. It assembles in a few minutes; 6 screws, plug in the wires, turn it on. It has a super easy to use front-mounted touch screen and everything is enclosed in the printer power supply included. It is not as easy to print as my little MPSMv2 though. The gantry needs to be level, the bed needs to be manually leveled before auto-leveling and I had a few adjustments to do here and there. Overall for what you pay you get a lot more! It's biggest downside though is there seems to be almost nothing out there about the Mk2. Being that this is a fairly recent printer (the Mk2) I can understand that but be aware: a lot of the information you will find online is about the Duplicator i3 Plus and not the Mk2 so some things may differ. I would say this is the perfect printer to upgrade from a beginner's printer and compared to my MPSMv2 there's not much modifications needed for the Duplicator i3 Mk2 to be a great machine. You don't need to mod it that much since it's already pretty good out of the box! Recommended things you change: Centrifugal fan for the parts cooling fan All metal micro-swiss extruder upgrade aluminium heatbed carriage plate. (not the head bed, the plate underneath) Fortunately, these parts are all sold on here on spool3d!
