faulty waste

1/5
it can't read a stick. support offered nothing to fix it. It will not print 95 % of the time . The nozzle clogs and won't stick to the table. I'm very sorry I bought it. Hi Gregory, Please contact us at support@spool3d.ca. We have not received any communication from you regarding this. -Spool3D

Pricey but amazing starter printer

4/5
This is my first 3D printer. I was skeptical of my ability to assemble a cheap one of my own so I wanted to get one that was mostly pre-assembled. The instructions were not amazing but I figured it out. I decided to get a decent one after reading tons and tons of reviews and watching literally over a hundred youtube videos on different printers to get I decided on the CR-10S. After I set it up and started learning it, going through tutorials I am very happy I did not get the 10 and got the 10s instead. The glass bed plate is slightly slightly bowled like 0.5mm lower in the center (or higher depending on how I flip it) so I need to replace that for large intricate prints. My first print was the "lucky cat" test print. It came out BEAUTIFUL. Better than a lot of older printers could do after months of calibration. I'm rating it 4/5 stars, because of the bed plate issue and instructions being lacking. Honestly would rate 4.5 if I could.

Excellent Beginner 3D printer

5/5
This is my second 3D printer, the 1st being a chinese Sunhokey i3 kit that looked like a meccano kit from my youth :-). I learned alot from my 1st printer as I built it from scratch and upgraded it for 2 years. When I received the CR-10S, I couldn't believe how easy it was to assemble (literally 15 mins). It took me another 5mins to level the bed and load filament and I just started printing straight from the sdcard. It has worked flawlessly ever since. I waited until I printed the small spool that came with the printer and I am now on my 1st spool of PLA that I purchased. With the old i3 I had I waited around for each print to start to ensure I had 1st good layer adhesion, but with the CR-10S I just let it go and no issues. I ahven't printed anything larger than 100mm X100mm as of yet but I plan on extended prints in the near future. I definitely recommend this as a good 1st printer, with one caveat.....Take the time to learn how to level your bed properly and ensure your printer has all bolts tightened and no wobble on Y axis (only eccentric nuts I had to tighten). Other than that it is a dream to print with. Also, love the filament out sensor, works as advertised and was able to resume and save a print.

Great product

5/5
I have been into 3D printing for about 5 years now. The CR-10S is my 4th printer (others are still operational). I have had it for about 3 weeks now and I'm impressed with the good build quality and nice prints. The large build area is great. It runs beside my Wanhao i3 which I bought from Spool3D about a year ago. I know I can feed a job to either printer and I will be happy with the results.

My first 3d printer

5/5
I have never owned or operated a 3d printer prior to purchasing the CR-10S. It is relatively easy to set up and use and there are plenty of YouTube videos and a great Reddit and Facebook community for support. The prints coming off this machine have been perfect.

Great large format printer

5/5
Owned for about a week now and enjoying the large build volume the CR-10s provides immensely. Didn't care for the stock extruder so upgraded with a e3d titan extruder coupled with a e3d v6 hotend. One recommendation that I strongly recommend is upgrading the firmware to Marlin 1.1.7 or later, to take advantage of mesh bed leveling. No need for a probe, and if you take the time to do a 7x7 calibration (probably overkill) prints flawless first layers. Upgrading was relatively painless thanks to the bootloader already present on the board, so just plug in the USB and use the Arduino environment to upload a new firmware painlessly. One other upgrade I plan on doing is moving to a BuildTak flex plate system, love it on my Wanhao i3 since it has saved my fingers from stitches. BTW, in case anyone was wondering, mine came with the blue plastic strips to put in the aluminium extrusions. I had to remove one that was on the left Z axis since it was rubbing against the x-axis as it moved up and down.
