XTC-3D® High Performance 3D Print Coating

XTC-3D® is a protective coating for smoothing and finishing 3D printed parts. It does not melt plastic. Two liquids are mixed together and brushed onto any 3D print. Coating self-levels and wets out uniformly without leaving brush strokes. Working time is 10 minutes and cure time is about 4 hours (depending on mass and temperature). XTC-3D® cures to a hard, impact resistant coating that can be sanded, primed and painted. Adding colors and metal effects is easy.

Inexpensive to Use: 1 oz covers 100+ square inches.

90% Time & Labor Savings: XTC-3D® fills in 3D print striations and creates a smooth, high gloss finish. The need to post finish is almost eliminated.

Coat any 3D Print Surface: XTC-3D® can be applied to both SLA and SLS prints. It works with PLA, ABS, Laywoo, Powder Printed Parts and other rigid media. It also can be used to coat EPS, EPDM and urethane foam as well as wood, plaster, fabric, cardboard and paper.

XTC-3D® does not contain VOC's, phthalates or phosphates.

XTC -3D is Great!

5/5
I have used XTC-3D to coat sone of my 3D prints and I find it works great. Being careful to follow the directions I find it results in a super smooth surface.

Decent

3/5
This product is not that easy to use. It does smooth out prints but works best on large flat faces. More complex geometries will result in pooling of the resin. The finish will also inevitably contain some air bubbles. To get a great surface you will have to print your parts undersize and apply a thick coat or multiple thin coats with sanding in between. May also be a good idea to give a light sand before application though I have yet to try this. Advertsied as "Eliminates 90% of post processing work, while 50% would be more accurate. Also it smells awful even when used outside. I would suggest a fume hood if possible. Still a decent product but more of a niche application than expected.

Nice stuff

Make sure to pay attention to instructions and mix in the correct ratio. Works really nice.. go with several coats sanding in between and than paint after. Makes the print much stronger. Not the best finish if you just brush on one coat though.

Groovy stuff!

Testing out products to be used within a school enviroment and this is much safer and easier to use than acetone and works for any type of filament!

great product

5/5
Worked great on the few models i used it on so far. Mixes really easily, Part 1 is a little on the thick side (hair gel like) so measuring it takes a little bit, i measured out part 2 first then part 1 which made it slide out of the measuring cup easily. It takes a while to harden but gives you time to smooth out drips and fix problem areas

Nice to find this so close within Canada

5/5
Another great product, I am glad it is close to Western Canada. Where I live it is substantially more cost effective to order in product unless I can make 1 trip and pick up a lot of product. Smooth-on work great just like you see on YouTube etc. I am really looking forward to giving it a shot on some of the Taulman3D filament prints I have done now.

Easy to apply and works as described. Adds a good shiny finish and fills holes and cracks.
